How it works

Tap a letter to cycle its color. Simple mode takes known positions, letters somewhere, and excluded letters. The length control on this page covers 4–8.

Questions

What do the colors mean?

Green is a known position. Yellow is in the word, other place. Gray is out, or extra copies of a letter you already used.

Does a gray letter always mean absent?

No. A second gray copy of a letter you already placed means exactly that many copies, not zero.

What is the best next guess?

The word, from our 5-letter valid list, that splits the remaining set into the most groups. It is not an official answer list.
